Kitchen Remodeling on Oʻahu — The Heart of Your Home, Reimagined.

Our kitchen remodels open up homes across Oʻahu. Outdated galley kitchens and closed-off walls don't match how Hawaii families live today — we transform them into open, light-filled spaces built for cooking, gathering, and entertaining.

The open-concept pivot

Opening the layout thoughtfully.

Many Oʻahu homes built in the 1970s–90s have kitchens separated from the living space. We improve connection through cabinetry, islands, storage, and nonbearing partition changes that stay within our C-5 scope.

  • Nonbearing layout changes. C-5 carpentry remodeling includes nonbearing partitions; load-bearing work requires the appropriately licensed professional.
  • Trade coordination. Any plumbing or electrical work is identified for the properly licensed trade before construction.
  • Airflow & lighting. Planning islands, cabinetry, and sightlines around the way your household uses the room.

Kitchen renovation questions, answered

How much does a kitchen remodel cost on Oʻahu?

A full single-family kitchen remodel with us starts at $35,000, and every project is priced through the same three tiers — Beautiful, Impressive, Exquisite — so you can see exactly what each level buys before you commit a dollar. Your $250 on-site consultation is credited back to the project on contract.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Most kitchens run several weeks from demolition to final walkthrough, depending on cabinetry, layout, materials, separately licensed trades, and permit timing. We provide a project-specific schedule; the planning discipline reflects founder Sean Warnet's USMC background.

Can you open up my kitchen by removing a wall?

Our C-5 classification includes nonbearing partitions, but it does not authorize changes to foundations or load-bearing members. A wall must be evaluated before removal. If the concept is structural, an appropriately licensed professional and any required DPP permit must be identified in the written scope before demolition.

Do you do custom cabinetry?

Yes. Custom and semi-custom cabinetry is part of our Impressive and Exquisite tiers — sized and styled to your kitchen instead of forcing your kitchen to fit a stock box. It's one of the biggest upgrades on the matrix, and one of the clearest places your chosen tier shows up.

Do you handle design and construction, or do I need a separate designer?

Our team helps with layout and material selection, and designer Jessica can walk you through finishes at our Kapolei showroom. Island Contractors performs construction within its C-5 scope and documents any separately licensed trades or permit responsibilities the project requires.
